The BPC Guide to Fall Open Studios and Events

Judging by the slight chill in the air this week, fall is upon us! So grab your pumpkin spice latte and head out to some of the amazing open studio events around the state. The change in seasons offers an opportunity to produce some fresh photography work and it’s very inspiring to see the work of other local artists.

South End Open Studios is taking place this Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th from 11am to 6pm

Fort Point Open Studios is taking place October 16th-18th at 300 Summer Street, Boston MA 02210

BPC member Bob Ward is participating in Roslindale Open Studios on November 7th and 8th. He will be exhibiting his BPC Neighborhood Project “Roslindale Revitalization Through Business to Business Partnerships” again at the Boschetto Bakery, 4172 Washington Street, Roslindale, MA.

There are many other open studios happening in Boston neighborhoods. To see a complete schedule, click here.

Western Avenue Open Studios in Lowell, MA are holding their open studio event on Saturday, October 3rd 12-5. See work from 180 artists, including BPC members Jeff Engel, Jack Holmes, and Linda Williamson. Western Avenue Studios are located at 122 Western Ave. Lowell, MA 01851. Jeff Engel says he’ll probably be working on some Polaroid emulsion lifts. His studio is in room A204.

BPC member Gail Fischer will be participating in the Natick Artist Open Studios on October 17th and 18th from 12-5. She will be located at Town Hall across from the Morse Library on Main Steet.

If you find yourself taking a trip to Hunt’s Video and Photo in Melrose between October 10th and 24th, travel down Main Street and check out the Melrose Window Art Walk. Local artists will display their work in merchant’s windows. Alicia Carlson will have her photos displayed at Hugo’s of Melrose, 424 Main Street, Melrose, MA 02176

If you are a member of the Boston Photography Center and would like your event posted on our blog, please fill out the member news form here. Blog posts will also appear on the BPC Facebook page.
